Refreshing Pumpkin Spice Horchata

A delightful and refreshing twist on traditional horchata with a comforting pumpkin spice flavor, perfect for the fall season.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup rice
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Rinse the rice in cold water and then soak it in a bowl with water for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  2. Drain the rice and blend it with fresh water until smooth.
  3. Strain the mixture through a cheesecloth into a pitcher.
  4. Add milk, pumpkin puree, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla extract to the strained mixture. Stir until well combined.
  5. Chill in the refrigerator for several hours before serving.

Notes

  • For a richer taste, you can substitute almond milk for regular milk.
  • Adjust sweetness to your liking.
