Fall Pumpkin Chocolate Chip : Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Bread

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup canned pumpkin puree
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a bowl, mix the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger.
  3. In another large bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, pumpkin, and vegetable oil until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  7. Bake for 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  8. Let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • For an extra treat, add nuts such as walnuts or pecans.
  • This bread can be made ahead of time and freezes well.
