Instructions

  1. In a large pot, cook the turkey bacon until crispy. Remove and chop.
  2. Add onion, carrots, celery, and garlic to the pot and cook until softened.
  3. Add split peas, broth, thyme, chopped bacon, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil.
  4. Reduce heat and simmer for about 1 hour or until peas are tender.
  5. Blend if desired for a creamier texture, then serve.
