Easy Homemade Chicken Pot Pie Recipe

  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
  • 1 cup frozen peas and carrots
  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 3/4 cups chicken broth
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1 package pie crusts (2 crusts)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour, salt, pepper, and onion powder until smooth.
  3. Gradually add chicken broth and milk, stirring constantly until mixture thickens.
  4. Stir in chicken and peas and carrots. Remove from heat.
  5. Pour the chicken mixture into a pie crust. Cover with the top crust, seal edges, and cut slits in the top crust.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.

Notes

  • Let the pot pie cool for a few minutes before serving.
