Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla.
  4. Combine the flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, cinnamon, and salt; gradually add to the butter mixture.
  5. Fold in the diced apples.
  6. In a small bowl, mix the sugar and cinnamon for rolling.
  7. Shape dough into balls, roll in the cinnamon sugar, and place on ungreased baking sheets.
