Apple Butter Snickerdoodles

A delightful fall treat combining the flavors of apple butter and traditional snickerdoodles.

  • 1 cup apple butter
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, apple butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until well combined.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  8. Allow to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, roll the dough balls in cinnamon sugar before baking.
  • Use room temperature ingredients for best results.
